Get ready, Taco Junkies, because a brand new Taco of the Month is on the prowl at Torchy’s Tacos. The Cougar, available at participating Torchy’s locations throughout May, features smoked beef brisket, corn relish, guajillo onion strings, BBQ sauce, chipotle sauce and cilantro on a flour tortilla.
“The Austin food scene is known for two things: barbeque and tacos… so why not combine both for an epic Taco of the Month?” said Mike Rypka, founder and CEO of Torchy’s Tacos. “We’re sharing our hometown’s love for Damn Good barbeque with our fans across the country by introducing the Cougar, a kickass taco made with tender beef brisket, BBQ sauce and corn relish to balance out the savory with some sweetness. Torchy’s fans who are signed up for the Taco Junkies Rewards Club and purchase the Cougar from 5/1 – 5/15 will receive a reward for a free Cougar taco, redeemable from 5/16 – 5/31 in-store, on Torchys.com or through the Torchy’s app.*
While you’re checking out the Cougar, be sure to try May’s Drink of the Month, Torchy’s House-Made Sangria, made with 100% pure agave tequila by Exotico, triple sec and freshly squeezed lime juice swirled with house-made sangria.
Portions of the proceeds from Taco of the Month sales go to Torchy’s charitable partners, including the Make a Wish Foundation, MD Anderson and Phoenix House.
