Opening Day to Include Free Breakfast Giveaway

AMARILLO – July 15, 2014 —  Torchy’s Tacos, the popular taco shop, is set to open their first Amarillo location on Thursday, August 7th.

The 4,000 square foot Amarillo location, located at 3562 Soncy Road, will be the furthest stretch from the company’s hometown of Austin, Texas.  They will be joining another Texas-bred chain, United Supermarkets, in the Soncy Market development.

To celebrate the new store, Torchy’s will be offering free breakfast tacos through 10AM on grand opening day Thursday, August 7th.   Starting at 7AM, visitors can receive one (1) free breakfast item of their choice as either a dine-in or to-go meal.  Favorites include the Monk Special (scrambled eggs with green chilies, bacon and cheese on a flour tortilla) and the Ranch Hand (grilled skirt steak, eggs, and Diablo hot sauce).

Die-hard fans for Torchy’s should pay close attention to the brand’s social accounts, as they’ll be providing information for the location’s pre-opening party featuring free food, beverage, and a chance to win free tacos for one year.  It is recommended to follow Torchy’s Tacos on Facebook at www.faceboook.com/torchystacos for upcoming details. About Torchy’s Tacos:

Torchy’s Tacos started in 2006 with a mobile trailer, a little red Vespa, and a man with a passion for good food.  Seven years ago, Mike Rypka left an executive chef position to chase his dreams by investing everything he had into Torchy’s Tacos.  With a new, experimental menu ready to serve but no mouths to feed, Rypka jumped on his Vespa and started throwing out samples in an attempt to draw customers to his trailer.  Before he knew it, people were rallying beside the taco stand hollering, “damn these tacos are good!” and the Torchy’s Tacos’ legacy began.  Today, Torchy’s Tacos operates 24 locations throughout Texas.
