Torchy’s Tacos Reveals New Menu Launching Nationwide on August 28th

AUSTIN, TX – August 27, 2024 – Torchy’s Tacos is excited to announce the launch of our updated menu, debuting in all 126 locations nationwide on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. This latest menu innovation arrives with new menu items as we celebrate our 18th year of serving “Damn Good” tacos and more to Taco Junkies nationwide!

Menu Highlights:

Damn Good Tacos: Building on the success of the Taco of the Month program, we’re making a few guest favorites permanent, including The Hogfather, which debuted last year and the Cougar, a beloved taco that will now be known as the Republican.

Cougar/Republican Taco

The new Fo Sho taco: gives our guests a tasty vegan option featuring fresh ingredients. To provide additional healthier options, guests can also order Fresh Avocado and Grilled Baja Shrimp tacos instead of their fried counterparts.

Starters & Sides: Our menu expands with the introduction of The Threesome—a trio serving of our award-winning Green Chile Queso, guacamole, and choice of salsa. Damn Good Tots, smothered in queso, give our guests a new way to enjoy our award-winning queso as a starter or a side.

Breakfast: Guests at our Colorado locations have enjoyed the Breakfast Burrito for years and we are excited to offer it alongside our staple breakfast tacos on the all-day breakfast menu at all locations. In addition, tots will replace homestyle potatoes in all breakfast tacos.

The Torchy’s Taco Vault

At Torchy’s Tacos, innovation is always at the center of development and guest satisfaction. The Torchy’s Taco Vault is where all our taco creations are curated and tested with Head Chef Cheryl Drummond and Culinary team, then brought to life as Taco of the Month or Limited Time Offers. All Torchy’s Tacos menu items have the chance to come back, so it’s never a goodbye, just a see you later.

“Our guests are the driving force behind our decision making and their feedback has been at the heart of our menu testing,” Head Chef Cheryl Drummond says about receiving feedback directly from Torchy’s guests, ” We want everyone that comes to Torchy’s Tacos ready for that curated experience.”

“We have both old-school favorites and unreleased tacos ready to go from Torchy’s Vault,” says Jay Wald, COO of Torchy’s Tacos, “We’re all about keeping it fresh, innovative, and fun, that’s why Taco of the Month is so important to us. It also gives us a chance to give back to the community as we donate a portion of proceeds every month from taco of the month sales to local charities.”

Heading to the Taco Vault

Happy Retirement: With the retirement of the Jalapeno Cheddar Sausage, the Republican, #4 Breakfast Taco and the Secret Menu’s Ace of Spades, will be headed to the vault.

The Democrat and Republican tacos: will always have a spot on the Torchy’s Tacos menu. The Cougar has been a fan-favorite candidate for a more permanent position on the menu. The people have spoken, and The Cougar will officially become the (new) Republican.

A New Vegan In Town: The MoFaux blazed a vegan trail that led to the innovation of the new Fo Sho joining the menu, a taco that amplifies the fresh ingredients and made-to-order emphasis in Torchy’s kitchens.

Sleep Sweetly, Lil’ Nookies: These sweet treats have been with Torchy’s for a long time, which means they should be on the short list to return from the Vault for special occasions.

Operation Enhancements

Under the leadership of COO Jay Wald and Head Chef Cheryl Drummond, the new menu also focuses on operational efficiency—better food, served faster, without compromising on quality.

“Our kitchen optimizations are designed to streamline processes, allowing us to serve our high-quality food faster and fresher than ever,” explained Jay Wald, COO of Torchy’s Tacos, “This menu rollout is not just about new flavors; it’s about enhancing the entire Torchy’s Tacos experience.”

“There’s no doubt the industry has changed and innovated in a lot of ways over the years. We’re not interested in getting robots to make guacamole. We won’t cut corners, and our teams always use fresh ingredients to make our guacamole in house,” says Chef Cheryl Drummond, “We are moving in the other direction, how do we make our menu work better for our kitchens and staff, as well as be better quality at faster times for the guests? We know this industry is competitive and we’re here to compete. We won’t compromise where it matters.”

A Commitment to Growth and Innovation

The menu launch precedes the opening of new locations in new markets including Atlanta, Nashville, and Rockville, Maryland. As we expand, we remain dedicated to our roots—innovative, high-quality, made-to-order meals that cater to the cravings of Taco Junkies everywhere. Torchy’s Tacos recently opened their first Georgia location in West Midtown Atlanta on Friday, August 23rd.
