Torchy’s Tacos Fires Up Northshore with New Restaurant
Opening public preview party serves free tacos (and more) to hungry fans
Austin, Texas – Nov. 26, 2018 – After much anticipation, Torchy’s Tacos, the popular Austin-based taco chain, is set to open its first downtown Austin location on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018. The new location will be serving up Damn Good Tacos on the ground floor of the Northshore building at 110 San Antonio Street, Unit #120, Austin, TX 78701. Torchy’s Tacos Junkies can get their fix by visiting the new location to enjoy Torchy’s award-winning menu featuring unique tacos, coveted queso and refreshing margaritas.
The night before the official opening, on Monday, Dec. 10, the Torchy’s team will host a public preview party from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Taco enthusiasts who attend the public preview party will be showered with free tacos, drinks, entertainment and a Damn Good time. Free taco money is up for grabs on opening day to one lucky raffle winner who visits the new Northshore location when it opens for business on Tuesday, Dec. 11. Fans can expect to experience Torchy’s untraditional, bold menu offerings including signature tacos like Trailer Park, Baja Shrimp and Fried Avocado. Make any taco “trashy” (covered in Torchy’s award winning Green Chile Queso) for a truly Torchy’s kick.
Launched from a food truck in Austin in 2006, Torchy’s Tacos has grown from a local favorite to a taco staple throughout the Southwestern United States. Today, the brand has over 60 locations in Texas, Oklahoma and Colorado with additional expansion planned in 2019 and beyond.

Each month a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each Taco of the Month are donated to Torchy’s charitable partners – MD Anderson Cancer Center, Make-A-Wish and Phoenix House. The December Taco of the Month is a delicious twist on a traditional Al Pastor taco. Coined The Preacher, this worship-worthy Taco of the Month includes marinated and grilled Berkshire pork with freshly grilled pineapple and onion, served with Avocado Sauce and cilantro on a corn tortilla.
