Austin, Texas – September 1, 2020 – Torchy’s Tacos, the popular Austin-based craft casual taco brand, is bringing back the beloved Tailgater Taco for the September Taco of the Month. Featuring classic gameday flavors like Diablo wing sauce, blue cheese and fried chicken with a uniquely Torchy’s twist, this taco MVP arrives just in time for the NFL kickoff as well as the start of select college football seasons, for a Damn Good tailgate at Torchy’s table or at home.
The Tailgater features a Panko-battered chicken tender on a bed of crispy bacon, with Torchy’s award-winning Green Chile Queso, Diablo wing sauce, poblano ranch slaw, blue cheese crumbles, and a drizzle of honey, all served on a flour tortilla for $5.75.
“Let’s be honest: tailgating is one of the best parts of football,” said Mike Rypka, founder of Torchy’s Tacos. “Though the sports landscape has changed this year, we are reviving the spirit of tailgating and offering our guests the chance to kick back with our gameday-inspired Tailgater, some Green Chile Queso and their favorite icy beverage, from the comfort of their living room or local Torchy’s.”
Taco junkies can assemble their own tailgate with an order of scratch-made Guacamole, Green Chile Queso, and fresh sides like Beans and Rice, plus an ice cold Dos Equis or signature Torchy’s Margarita, for safe dine-in, convenient takeout and curbside pickup with the option to order and pay-ahead at Torchys.com or contactless delivery on DoorDash.*
Happy Hour specials are also available for dine-in with $1.50 off all bottled and draft beer and $2 off all Margaritas and Damn Good Drinks, weekdays from 3-6 p.m. If weekend sips are more your gameday style, Weekend Cures are available all day Saturday and Sunday, featuring Sangria, Bloody Marys, Mimosas, and Tequila Sunrises for just $3.50.*
The Tailgater is available Sept. 1-30 at participating Torchy’s Tacos locations. Portions of the proceeds from all Taco of the Month sales go to Torchy’s charitable partners.
