AUSTIN, Texas – July 31, 2020 – Torchy’s Tacos, the popular craft-casual taco chain, will launch its seventh annual Some Like It Hot promotion beginning Aug. 1. While Torchy’s features a special limited-edition Taco of the Month every month, each August it takes the heat to new heights with a lineup of seriously hot, Damn Good food.
Torchy’s award-winning Green Chile Queso and fresh-squeezed Margaritas are revered by fans, and for the first time ever, as a part of the Some Like It Hot menu, Torchy’s will serve two new heat-filled concoctions to make Torchy’s hottest meal yet: Daredevil Queso Blanco with chili lime salted Chicharrones – “ Torchy’s first-ever new queso recipe – and the Ring of Fire Margarita with habanero-infused Exotico tequila. To round out this year’s Some Like It Hot offerings, the fan-favorite Bottle Rocket Shrimp Taco is also returning.
“Our new Daredevil Queso Blanco and Ring of Fire Margarita are the perfect pairings for the Bottle Rocket Shrimp Taco for this year’s Some Like It Hot promotion,” said Mike Rypka, founder of Torchy’s Tacos. “Once we got into the kitchen and started playing around with different ingredients to create a flavorful meal that truly brings the heat, it was game over. I think we’ll see a lot of tears from Torchy’s spice lovers this year!”
This year’s Some Like It Hot menu lineup includes:
• Bottle Rocket Shrimp Taco: Habanero-battered fried shrimp, cabbage slaw, cotija cheese, candied jalapenos, cilantro and Diablo Mayo, served on a flour tortilla.
• Daredevil Queso Blanco: A spicy sister to our legendary Green Chile Queso! Our new Daredevil Queso Blanco features roasted jalapenos and serranos, fresh cilantro and Diablo Sauce, served with a basket of house fried chili lime salted Chicharrones.
• Ring of Fire Margarita: Habanero-infused Exotico tequila with housemade sweet and sour, fresh jalapeno and a Tajin rim.
Also new this year, fans can take home a limited-edition Torchy’s commemorative 16-ounce cup and lid, available with the purchase of regular-size Ring of Fire Margaritas for dine-in, takeout and delivery, where permitted, while supplies last. Think you can handle the spicy trifecta? Torchy’s dining rooms are open with a number of safety and sanitation measures in place. For guests who prefer to revel in pain at home, Torchy’s offers online ordering for takeout as well as delivery via DoorDash.
