TORCHY’S TACOS TO OPEN IN MUELLER LOCATION ON NOVEMBER 20th
Celebrates with Pre- Opening Party and Free Breakfast Tacos on Opening Day
AUSTIN — October 23rd, 2014 — Torchy’s Tacos, the popular taco shop, is set to open their 27th location in the Mueller District on Thursday, November 20th.
The new store is located at 1801 E. 51st near Berkman Drive in the Mueller District. The location will feature 3,500 square feet of space, plus almost 3,000 square feet of a covered, outdoor patio. The store’s green certified construction is a first for the Austin chain, which will feature reduced light pollution and light controls, low VOC paint, high-efficiency water usage, and collection for recyclables.
As well as exceeding requirements for regionally-sourced materials, the location will include first-time design elements such as mirrors, chains, and soft-light lanterns. “This location will be a first for residents of the greater Austin area, even those who have seen our newly-modeled locations in Round Rock, Cedar Park, and UT,” says Founder and VP of Culinary and Marketing. “We’re really proud of the experience this location will provide to our fans.”
Torchy’s fans can look forward to enjoying the location on Wednesday, November 19th with free tacos and libations. Between 6PM-9PM, each guest may enjoy two (2) complimentary tacos and two (2) drinks of choice. Torchy’s full bar will offer wine, rotating draft beer, and signature cocktails including the Lorena (habanero- infused tequila, grapefruit soda, fresh lime juice, and salt).
For grand opening day on Thursday, November 20th, Torchy’s will be offering free breakfast tacos. Beginning at 7AM through 10AM, visitors can receive one (1) free breakfast item of their choice as either a dine-in or to-go meal.

About Torchy’s Tacos:
Torchy’s Tacos started in 2006 with a mobile trailer, a little red Vespa, and a man with a passion for good food. Seven years ago, Mike Rypka left an executive chef position to chase his dreams by investing everything he had into Torchy’s Tacos. With a new, experimental menu ready to serve but no mouths to feed, Rypka jumped on his Vespa and started throwing out samples in an attempt to draw customers to his trailer. Before he knew it, people were rallying beside the taco stand hollering, “damn these tacos are good!” and the Torchy’s Tacos’ legacy began. Today, Torchy’s Tacos operates 26 locations throughout Texas.
