Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas Celebrates 30th Birthday

In 2014, Make-A-Wish® Central & South Texas celebrates its 30th Birthday – a well-deserved celebration of three decades of wish granting in the organization’s 40-county territory. The milestone is an opportunity to honor donors, volunteers and other supporters who have helped to share the power of a wish®.

The Make-A-Wish® birthday celebrations will span across 2014 – 2015 with special events & activities designed to highlight the amazing wish kids, and those committed to their mission.

Signature events include World Wish Day event in San Antonio on April 26th, 2015 and Austin Over The Edge June 13th & 14th, 2015 at W Austin. (Check out Torchy’s at Austin over the Edge 2014. So much fun!) Torchy’s is honored to support Make-A-Wish® Central & South Texas and some of the inspiring wish kids:

James, an 8 year old boy from Round Rock with ulcerative chronic enterocolitism wished to have a room remodel. We had so much fun meeting James & his family.

Lacey, an 11 year old girl from Taylor with Batten’s Disease wishes to go to Disney World! As part of her medical condition, Lacy has lost her sight. Her brother Austin also suffers from the same medical condition. We hung out with these two and their family prior to their departure to the amusement park.

Make a Wish Party

Nathaniel is another inspiring wish kid who got to see his wish realized earlier this year. What can we say? Disney World rules.

Since 1984, Make-A-Wish® Central & South Texas has granted more than 3,800 wishes to local kids, providing great hope, strength and joy in the midst of their serious medical challenges. In the chapter’s 30th year, the goal is to reach more than 230 kids throughout the 40-county territory.  Learn more or donate today!
