Damn Good Giving: Baylor Bearathon

March 22, 2014 marked the 12th Annual Bearathon Half Marathon & 5K, which raises money for student scholarships at Waco’s Baylor University. Serving as the Student Foundation’s largest annual fundraising effort, past races have raised as much as $100,000 and hosted almost 2,600 runners.

Open to the general public as well as Baylor students, the race begins and ends in the center of Fountain Mall on 5th street, offering a tour of the University’s campus and nearby areas.

As a sponsor of the race, Torchy’s supplied participants with custom Torchy’s Tacos water bottles, t- shirts, and cheers of encouragement as runners streamed past our location, which fires up on April 3. Some of our own even took to the streets to participate.

Torchy’s was proud to support such a great fundraising effort and excited to interact with the community in our future home in Beartown. Congrats to all of the winners, and big ups to ALL those who participated. See y’all soon in Waco!
