The Devil’s in the Details: Chioco Design

Over the past few years, y’all may have noticed a gradual evolution of the Torchy’s look. While our signature grit may have gotten a little polish, we’ll never say goodbye to our humble roots.  We clean up pretty nice, though, wouldn’t ya say?

That’s thanks in no small part to one of our prominent design partners Jamie Chioco, of Chioco Design, who works closely with our in-house construction team to devise and execute plans for our sexy new stores. Each design is unique, and lends itself to the building’s shape and feel, as well as the surrounding community which the restaurant will serve. We are committed to the use of sustainable materials when possible, including reclaimed wood and salvaged road reflectors.

Austin’s newest hot spot in the Mueller Development exemplifies the beautiful and fun atmosphere of a Torchy’s Tacos restaurant, and is also our first green-certified construction. You can experience a similar look and feel at many of our Houston and Dallas outposts.

Chioco and his team is also responsible for the sleek new look of Torchy’s Tacos World Headquarters, recently adopted in July 2014. We love working here!

Chioco Design was formed in 2005 by Jamie Chioco in Austin, Texas.  Their work ranges from the small scale of a private home to the larger scale of commercial adaptive reuse projects and interiors for a wide variety of clients that include restaurant, bar, retail and office owners. In addition to Torchy’s Tacos, recent portfolio includes other Austin beauties such as Winflo Osteria, Benji’s Cantina, and the growing chain of Royal Blue Grocery Stores.
